BEAMBright Kids: An Innovative eHealth Solution to Support Child Mental Health

Around 7–14% of Canadian children are diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD), such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Many of these children and their families face long wait times for assessments and treatment.

The BEAM (Building Emotional Awareness and Mental Wellbeing) platform is a mobile app designed to support family mental health and improve parent-child interactions. Research has shown that BEAM helps enhance parental mental health and reduces harsh parenting. There is an opportunity to adapt the platform to support families and caregivers of children with NDD. Utilizing focus groups with healthcare providers and families, this project will explore how the BEAM platform can be integrated into different organizations across Manitoba to better serve families of children with NDD.
